Detectives Beyond Borders is six years old

"The seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of thy people may eat; and what they leave the beast of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard."
— Exodus, 23:11
Get the beast of the field ready; Detectives Beyond Borders begins its seventh year today. Here are the posts from Sept. 21, 2011; 2010; 2009; 2008; 2007; and 2006.

Keep on reading!

I hope you're going to take that 'lying fallow' advice with a grain of salt.

Better to take Christopher Robin's advice and be six "now and forever".

Congratulations on DBBs longevity!

OK, but I'm taking a jubilee year off in DBB, Year Fifty.

Thanks!

Thanks, gentlemen. As to references, it was either Exodus or seven years of bad luck, and I find the Bible strikes the proper tone for almost any occasion. Versatile book, that.

Congratulations, Peter. I know of no other writing blog so carefully and tirelessly assembled. How you're able to produce the number of quality posts you do is beyond me. I'll keep reading as long as you keep posting.

Looking forward to seeing you in Cleveland.

Thanks. And may I say that I am enjoying the opening chapters of Wild Bill, which I bought based on Charlie Stella's endorsement.

Peter

Many congratulations. If I had one piece of advice it would be dont ever try to read Now We Are Six. Its infuriating. Its amazing that it became a classic cos its pretty crap. Christopher Robin, incidentally, hated it too.

But thanks. I've never read "Now We Are Six," and I realized years later what I missed in the Pooh stories by not knowing that Eeyore was supposed to be pronounced in Cockney fashion.

I liked Now We Are Six. But at the time, I was probably five. Also, I think my dad read it to me, which gave it its imprimatur.

Seana, could even such an advanced five-year-old as you undoubtedly were have had the worldly experience to see through And Now We Are Six?

All I know is that it was impressed upon me that six was the place to be.

Which may even be true.

I remember taking the world seriously when I was six, we kindergartners getting into shouting matches with those swaggering big shots, the first graders, on the school bus.

Congrats, Peter
But I hope that doesn't mean you've got a 'seven year itch' to look forward to, homes!

Hmm, a seven-year blog or crime-fiction itch ...

Thanks for the kind wishes.
