A graphic interlude with raw fish

Tony Chavira sends notice of an online P.I./noir comedy comic strip on which he's been collaborating for the last few months. Click here for the adventures of the suave, confident, powerful and inept Tuna Carpaccio P.I.

I'm pleased to have provided a no-doubt creative diversion. There's some nice drawing in those strips and some nice "deep-focus" panels that owe much to Orson Welles.

I'm completely new to graphic detective fiction (i've just got Agatha Christie's MURDER AT THE VICARAGE graphic version, and was sutitably disappointed at the simplification of village old-pussy-politics) though I like poking at raw fish (to test their freshness befor cooking).

Linda, I don't know if you've looked at the strips yet, but one character, the owner of a bar called Sharkie's, has the head of some kind of a sea creature. So yes, there is a nautical tinge to the strip. Most of the characters seem to be fully human, though, which makes for an interesting combination.

Sucharita, I have yet to determine the significance of the title character's name beyond the nautical connection that I mentioned in the comment above this one.

As it happens, I am visiting with some friends now, one of whom is quite au courant with crime-fiction comics. I read one this evening, and it was intriguing enough thematically and narratively that I may investigate further.

Purely by coincidence, I ate and enjoyed tuna carpaccio as a starter several weeks ago.
