"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt" *

Michael Walters takes us to Mongolia for an opposing view to that put forth by the pro-spring lobby.

Hi Peter -

I like Atwood's comment. Also, the top picture is a bank of pine trees and their reflection in the pond close by to the racetrack we were at this weekend.

Thanks for checking my blog.

One certainly gets a good idea from that comment how Margaret Atwood likes to spend her spare time. And I like the compactness of that little line of pine trees.

Hi Peter!
You like crime fiction and history...
What about reading a crime historical novel?

Thanks for the link, Peter. In fairness to the pro-spring lobby, I suspect there are few other places where spring is heralded by potentially lethal snowstorms...

I suspect you could be right, Michael. April showers could be more than just showers in some places. But the evocative headline on your post called for an equally colorful response.

Ian: I suspect Margaret Atwood is firmly in the pro-spring lobby, but the, er, earthiness of her comment was too good to pass up.

And Michael Walters' post is a nice reminder that whatever the Mongolian equivalent of light or sentimental pop songs is, it probably does not celebrate spring.

Hi Peter!

I felt great after having just an overview of your blog site! Since I started out with my teaching career, I've had a liking for mysteries and back when I was still teaching in regular school, I used the Dr. Quicksolve Whodunit Puzzles as warmup mind exercise before the lesson proper. Anyway, I'm looking forward to viewing your blogs often.
